Tips for Measuring New Blinds Design with an Outside Mount
If you are looking for blinds or shades for your home, it’s always a good idea to do a a little research before purchasing what you may think is the perfect set, only to find out they don’t fit or are all wrong for the windows or look you wanted. Measuring your windows is a great place to start before beginning your home-improvement project. Some blinds are mounted on the inside of the window area, some on the outside. Be prepared for finding the perfect blinds and measure for all possibilities before heading out to the store!
It is easy to measure the area outside your window-mounted blind. Similarly in the mountain, start by taking three horizontal window width measurement areas: at the top, middle and bottom of the window. Sometimes inconsistencies construction will provide various measurements. If this happens, use the smallest measurement to make sure the blinds are not too big for a smaller area of the window. Furthermore, the size of the window vertically with three different sizes: left top to bottom, middle top to bottom, and right up to the bottom of the window. Now, select the largest measurement.
Add at least one inch for each number. Some home improvement web site recommends adding a half inch. You will want to consult with sales associates on how much extra you need to enable blind or window style you choose.
If you are not sure or uncertain about the measurements, draw a rough sketch of your window and a list of three horizontal and three vertical measurements on the sketch. Take this with you to the store you’ve decided to buy curtains or window from. They will be able to help you choose the perfect style to fit the window!
