Charming and Modern Shuswap Cabin Design by Splyce Design
The Shuswap Cabin is located in the south, gently rolling area on the south shore of Lake Shuswap in BC, and designed by Splyce Design. The Shuswap Cabin is designed as a paradise for several seasons, this single-level home 2300 sq ft of living contained in weekend casual indoor / outdoor for owners and their guests to support. One of the main goals of the design sought to get married with the traditional vernacular cottage in concept, modern contemporary, open space, designed for the site and facilitate ease of movement between interior and exterior space to search. This can be achieved with support from the extensive use of wood. Along with a supporting cast of natural materials, wood finally to shape, define and integrate seamlessly into outer space in the house. Although the resulting form of modern architecture reflects the vernacular popular cabins, the integrated use of wood in the project immediately associate the house with a cottage typical of coarse quality. Contemporary Naturally Korman Residence Design by Cory Buckner Architects
Korman home design is maximized to capture light as it occupies the gap based on the Crestwood Hills area. This house was restored again by Cory Buckner Architects specializing in modern architecture mid-century. First design a butterfly roof structure in addition to the light of these two stories high clerestory windows that reach to the ceiling to catch. Some configurations of the window to the original house including the items to work properly with the addition of a second story was designed as an open beam structure and headings. Added skylights in the kitchen on the stove, which in addition to adding the mass of light in the room articulated ceramic fireplace accents. All the bedrooms overlook decks or terraces with sliding glass doors interior and exterior boundary dissolution. The new house is covered with new growth cedar tongue and groove siding with the roof covered with green slate gravel. Douglas fir floors and cabinets are used throughout the project.
